My name is Brendan J.J. Payne, and I am a historian particularly interested in the relationship between race, religion, and reform. My first book, Gin, Jesus, and Jim Crow, released in April 2022 with Louisiana State University Press. I also serve as a department chair and teach full-time as assistant professor of history at North Greenville University (South Carolina).
